Bespoke uPVC Windows Made to Measure

For openings that are not a neat rectangle: arches, angled tops, gable glazing and awkward sizes.

When an off-the-shelf size will not do

Plenty of homes have at least one opening that defeats a standard window. A curved head over a stairwell. A triangular light tucked under a gable. A narrow slot beside a chimney breast, or an opening that is simply wider or taller than usual. Rather than filling the gap with packers and trims, a bespoke window is built to the real shape of the hole in the wall.

Every window we supply is made to measure anyway, so bespoke work is an extension of how we already operate, not a special order bolted on.

Shapes and features we can discuss

Arched and segmental heads, raked or angled tops, circles and part circles, very tall or very wide frames, and combination frames that join shaped fixed lights to standard openers. Decorative touches such as Georgian bars or leaded detail can be added where they suit the property.

Shaped frames are usually fixed lights, with an opening sash placed in the rectangular part of the frame where the hinge geometry works. We explain what can open and what cannot at the survey, so there are no surprises on fitting day.

Why accurate measuring matters more here

With a rectangle, a few millimetres can be absorbed by the fixing gap. With an arch or a raked head, the curve or angle has to follow the brickwork closely or it looks wrong from the street. That is why we template or carefully measure shaped openings during the free survey instead of relying on a single width and height.

The frame is still uPVC, available in white or with woodgrain and colour foils, and the sealed units can use Planibel A low-emissivity glass like any other window we fit.

    Fitting and certification

Bespoke frames are installed by the same FENSA and CERTASS registered fitters as the rest of our work, and they are covered by the same compliance certificate. If the shaped window is part of a wider replacement, we plan it into the same job so the frames match in colour and sightline.

    Common questions

    Can a shaped window open?
Often part of it can. The shaped section is usually fixed and an opener sits in the rectangular section. We confirm this at survey.
    Are bespoke windows uPVC?
Yes. All of our windows, including bespoke shapes, are uPVC.
