Composite Door Prices: What Changes the Quote

We do not publish a price list, because the door you want and the opening it goes in decide the figure.

Why there is no single price

Two composite doors that look alike in a brochure can carry quite different quotes. One may be a plain solid slab into a standard opening; the other may have a sidelight, a toplight, decorative glass and a different colour on each face. Rather than quote a range that may not fit your home, we explain what moves the number and then give you an exact figure after measuring.

    The door itself

Style is the first variable. Solid designs, half-glazed and fully glazed designs use different leaf constructions, and decorative glass adds to the leaf cost. Colour is the second: a single standard colour is usually the simplest, while a different shade inside and out adds a step.

    The frame and surround

Many openings need more than a door. Sidelights either side, a toplight above, or a combination of both change the frame size and the amount of glass. The threshold also matters: a low threshold for easier access is specified differently to a standard one.

    Hardware and security

Handles, knockers, letter plates and spyholes come in different finishes. The cylinder and the multi-point lock are chosen to suit the door, and upgraded security features are a line on the quote in their own right. It is worth spending here, as this is the part you touch every day.

    The opening and fitting

What we find when the old door comes out also counts. A straightforward swap in a sound opening is quicker than one where the reveals need making good, or where the existing frame has been built into the brickwork. We look for this at the free survey so the quote reflects the real job. Fitting is by FENSA and CERTASS registered installers and includes the certificate.

    Spreading the cost

If you would prefer monthly payments, finance is available through our FCA-authorised arrangement (FCA 1055332). Our cost breakdown guide goes further into how each part of a composite door contributes to the total.
